About the EduMaster System
What is EduMaster?
The EduMaster System is a Zerksus Engineeing design to facilitate an internet based tutoring system to remotely connect teachers/tutors and students in a virtual classroom.
What does this system do for the student?
The system allows students to attend paid classes from "one-on-one" to multiple students per class, live visual as well as vocal media as if he/she was sitting in a real class. The advantages are numerous:
- Study under any teacher/tutor (prior acceptance required).
- Attend the class from anywhere broadband internet is available.
- Join the classes via Windows or Android based devices (free software).
- You can use either your PC
or smartphone. You can also use both at the same time but only one set
of functions at the same time. This is useful if you watch/listen the
lesson on your PC but use your smartphone for its camera function.
- Save money on fuel and travel time.
- Pay cheaper per lesson than for a physical classroom session.
- Pay only for the lessons required.
- Very easy payment via
Snapscan. You only have to top up as the system will keep track of your
balance. When you buy "credits" you can redeem it for any lesson or
product. Also, when required funds can be EFT-ed back (minus bank
charges) e.g. when a student has finished his/her course with funds
remaining in account. If you cannot make a lesson then you don't book
or pay.
- Record the entire session for later review. You will be able to review everything at your own leisure.
- The parent can attend with the student. This is very important in home school cases.
- If you have paid for a
lesson and experienced technical problems(e.g. slow internet) the full
recorded session will still be available for download. Also, you can
raise an issue with the teacher/tutor and request a percentage refund.
The system provides an education platform where a teacher/tutor can safely operate to provide a paid-for service, from the comfort of their own home or office. Again the advantages are numerous:
- Give the lesson from any broadband internet location.
- Minimal equipment cost. You will need a Windows PC, Wacom tablet, microphone/speaker or headset and lastly an optional webcam. Many will already have a PC or laptop (many with built-in webcams, speakers and microphone) so the biggest expense will be the Wacom tablet.
- Choose your own price per lesson. We do specify minimum prices but high (and realistic) prices are allowed. Choose the optimal price for optimal revenue. A percentage is deducted to cover our costs.
- The teacher/tutor does have to pay in any fees. We pay you!
- No physical classroom facilities required. You can operate from your kitchen or bedroom if you choose.
- If you decide to still run
formal physical classes then the same Windows software can replace your
whiteboard with a video projector. All online students will be able to
follow along. You will save on stationary, draw in any color you like
and save your feet from standing many hours per day. In fact, as the
software is free you can download it and use it like that right now.
- Handle up to 30 students connected per class.
- Pre-clear all students you want. This will allow you to refuse trouble makers, sort students into different grades, student performance and enforce early payment time limits. The latter can be used to make sure that e.g. 70% of the class is booked before confirming the lesson.
- You can give any type of lesson where you would normally write on a whiteboard. This is ideal for math and science, but other subjects can easily be adapted to the system. At minimum you can voice the entire lesson and just use your mouse and keyboard for minimal visual input. We constantly add features as required.
- Lessons any time. The
system is up and running 24/7. If you want to give English lessons to
Japanese people at 3am in the morning then you are free to do so. Note
that for forreign students we will need to organize funds differently.
But, you (teacher/tutor) can be away on vacation and still give your
class, as long as you have your equipment and broadband internet.
- Money, money, money. If you want to tutor for free then do so at your own peril but this system is there for the teacher/tutor to build a business. The system protects the teacher/tutor. No pay equals no lesson. If a student does not book his lesson (i.e. paid up) then he/she cannot attend.
- You can monitor your
balance on the website and decide when you want to cash out. Cashing
out operates on a few rules and procedures which also includes a
reasonable time to register and queue the payments (via EFT). The
system also auto generates invoices on your behalf, to us, and you will
receive your copy in your email inbox.
We endevour to:
- Bring the teacher/tutor and student closer together.
- Extend the area of service to a much wider range and audience.
- Expand on possible class times, locations of all parties.
- Provide educational services and innovations and never-seen-before experiences.
- To reduce costs for the student and teacher in terms of cost per lesson, materials and equipment,fuel and travel time.
- To provide a teacher/tutor with a safe way to earn money that is pre-negotiated, pre-collected and unemotional in nature.
- To provide the student with a much wider range of tuition options.
